From Mr. Nick Alexakos to SSCGI Re: Initial classifier

Thank you for your email.

>> WERE GOING TO HOLD A 7 STAGE MATCH COME AUG 2 TO 4.

>> PARTICIPATING IN THE MATCH.

Terrific.  Don't forget anyone wishing to

participate and be classified MUST have an

IPSC Alias and the alias must be entered

in the WinMSS membership data.

>> QUESTION: DO WE NEED TO INVITE OR HAVE A GRAND MASTER

>> ON THIS MATCH IN ORDER FOR US TO BE INITIALLY

>> CLASSIFIED?

No.. The four stage results will be enough to

get classified.

Good luck and good shooting,

DVC

Nick Alexakos

PS. Be sure to download the latest version of

    WinMSS.. and let me know if there is anything

    I can help you with...  Good luck.

Welcome to the first edition of ICS

Newsletter. You received this issue

because you have registered an IPSC

email alias. This newsletter is only

being sent to shooters with an ICS

email alias.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I hope you don\'t mind hearing from us
from time to time. We would like to
keep you informed of what\'s going on
with the classifications, up-coming
events, new programs, and future plans.
Helpful Hints
~~~~~~~~~~-~~

ICS scores are being received at

headquarters and we have noticed a

few minor issues which should be

addressed.

1. When registering, please check with

the stats office to ensure that your

IPSC Alias is entered and that it is

EXACTLY correct. Your Alias is the only

way we have of identifying you and your

scores so it MUST be accurate.

2. You might also want to ensure that

the box \"submit to ICS\" is checked.

Otherwise the scoring program will not

accept your scores for classification.

3. And lastly, check your birth date

to make sure it is also entered properly.

The good news is that once that Stats

Officer has entered the correct

information, it will be there the

next time.

Aliases

~~~~~~~
Most of the email we have been receiving
from shooters with aliases falls into
three basic categories.
\"I registered my IPSC Alias and now I\'ve
forgotten it. Can I look it up?\"
  Yes.
  Visit: http://www.ipsc.org/ialias8.htm
\"I have changed my Internet service provider
and now have a new email address. Is there a
way I can change my IPSC email address?\"
  Yes.
  Visit: http://www.ipsc.org/ialias9.htm
\"I want to change my IPSC Alias to something
else. Is there a way I can do that?\"
  No. Once you have registered your IPSC Alias,
  it is yours for life.
Check this out!
---------------
In the not too distant future, you will be
able to not only see your results graphically
on a Line Chart but will also be able to enter
another alias (e.g. your shooting buddy) and
compare both results graphically!
This is just one of the many future projects
planned for ICS. And there\'s more coming...
Classifier Stages
-----------------
Currently there are 74 Classifier Stages
available, and we are planning on having twice
that many by the end of the year. If you have
any interesting stages in mind that would be
relatively easy to set up and fun to shoot,
send them to ics@ipsc.org. We would love to
see them.
Good luck and good shooting,
DVC
"Excellence in Shooting"
------------------------
Three years ago when the subject of
a world-wide classification came up,
the overwhelming response was that
it was a good idea... but IMPOSSIBLE
to achieve!
Impossible? Well... today, men, women,
juniors, seniors, and super-seniors
in all Divisions are shooting at
their home club on a weekend and
within days are seeing their
world-wide results.
American Handgunner Postal Match
--------------------------------
Score sheets for the American Handgunner
Postal Match (AHPM) are coming in steadily
and *stage* scores are being entered into
the International Classification System
(ICS) as they arrive. Needless-to-say,
only shooters who have registered an
IPSC Alias can be entered into ICS.
1. All shooters who shot the AHPM will
   see their scores posted on the
   IPSC Web site once the final results
   are tabulated (probably end August).
2. Shooters with registered aliases who
   shot the AHPM can see their individual
   *stage* results now by entering their
   IPSC alias in "Your Classification".
   Check out your scores!
   http://216.234.50.226/alias.php
3. Shooters with registered aliases who
   shot the AHPM can see their AHPM
   *match* results once all the final
   scores have been tabulated.
Forgot your alias?
  Visit: http://www.ipsc.org/ialias8.htm
Remember, the ICS is a dynamic system.
Classifications will move up or move down
based on a competitor's performance
relative to shooters around the globe.
Classification is calculated by the
average of your best 4 scores (highlighted)
of the most recent 8 classification
records submitted.
Classifier Stages
-----------------
If you have any interesting stages in mind
that would be relatively easy to set up and
fun to shoot, send them to ics@ipsc.org.
We would love to see them.
Good luck and good shooting,
DVC
